Stevens Stone Supply is an Arkansas based, family owned and operated business.
With the total crew numbering more than forty, the office duties are shared by Bob, his wife Rose and a secretary. Yard duties are shared by Bob, their two sons - Brock and Kurt - and a number of employees & contract stone suppliers. Together they are able to provide a level of service surpassed by non-other in the business.
Besides being one of Arkansas’ largest suppliers of Arkansas Field Stone to regional and national clients, they also supply stone from other parts of the country to regional contractors throughout the south and midwestern states. As you can see in our Gallery Section of our site, Stevens Stone is used in just about every kind of building concept imagined including commercial buildings, residential and multi-family homes, signage, landscaping and virtually every place that stone can be used.
When Bob and Rose Stevens started their little stone hauling business in 1976 they never dreamed that it would grow to the size operation as it exists today. Matter-of-fact, their only goal was to feed their family and pay their bills. Married 40+ years, Bob and Rose have raised
two sons, a daughter and are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren.
In 2001 they relocated their business from Big Flat Arkansas to its current location in Van Buren County. This 2001 move placed them on a 28 acre yard just north of Clinton Arkansas on Highway 65N. They have since expanded this location to more than 85 acres with highway frontage on both sides of the road. In 2002, they built their current office - built with stone of course. In 2005 their location was further enhanced with the addition of beautiful stone landscaping, walks and walls so that visitors can see ‘the possibilities’ of building with stone.
The process of gathering rock has changed very little in the past two-thousand years. The rock is mostly collected by hand. A network of contractors gather the stone and then haul it to the Stevens Stone Yard where it is inspected for quality, weighted on their truck scales and then unloaded, stacked
on pallets and made ready to be shipped on one of their 6 trucks including 3 over-the-road tractor-trailer trucks, a 3-axle bob-truck and two supply trucks.
